Do I need special radios to work on a construction site?
Only if you are in a hazardous environment (see Oil & Gas) where there is a risk of explosion. But we would recommend specific types of radio with good durability due to the harsh environment encountered on many construction projects.
What about noise protection?
If noise protection is required, we can supply headsets that will work with your radios and still provide the legally required level of hearing protection.
Are there other options for comms in this environment?
Yes. We would recommend one of the Peltor headsets with in-built radio comms. Follow this link for more details.
The construction industry presents its own challenges when it comes to implementing reliable communication systems. The presence of large amounts of steel and concrete can have an adverse effect on the performance of any radio system, not to mention the often harsh physical conditions, particularly during the Autumn and Winter months.
Construction sites are also often noisy places to work, which means it can de difficult to hear radio traffic without the correct headset, which also need to be approved form a HSE perspective.
Crane drivers also need to be able to communicate effectively with ground staff whilst maintaining two handed operation of the complex crane manoeuvering controls.
G6 has a range of solutions to address all of these scenarios. Call us on 01454 610050 to learn how we can make your operational environment safer and more comfortable.
More information for Construction will be added shortly.
